United hold on for a draw
DC was shelling the NE goal all night. Only Matt Reis kept the Revolution in the game. United looked to have wrapped a road win when Fred scored to make it 2-0 in the 53rd but New England battled back with 59th and 72nd minute goals to make it a game. The final ended at 2 apiece and United hung onto their UMLSCC title but remain in the cellar and 1 point behind Kansas City in the MLS East standings.
2-2 is the 7th most occuring result in UMLSCC play at 5.59%. DC grabbed their 5th away win as the champion which ties them for third with KC, NY and Houston/SJ. LA leads that category with 13 wins to Chicago's 10.
United's next game is at home against Houston. On Wednesday the 4th of June. This will be their first matchup with Houston since they moved from San Jose. This will also only be the 4th ever meeting between the two clubs. The first was in 1996 and was the inagural MLS game which San Jose won 1-0. The other two games were in DC in 2003 and 2004. DC won both games 2-1. Taking the title from SJ in 03 and defending the title in 04.
