The UMLSCC is a contest for MLS teams in which the Champion must defend the title every game. This is a fun-fan friendly way to raise interest in MLS games. The UMLSCC started when the San Jose Clash defeated DC United 1-0 in the first ever MLS game 1996. Since then the title has changed 155 times in 412 games. The current UMLSCC are Los Angeles. This is LA's 14th title.

Toronto keep DC down

Danny Dichio scored in the 7th minute and Toronto pleased the home fans yet again by holding on for the 1-0 victory. There were two firsts for TFC tonight: 1-their first ever victory as UMLSCC title holder(all previous times they had drawn or lost), 2- their first ever victory over DC United.

DCU falls to 0-3-11 when challenging on the road for the UMLSCC title. Saturday DC will host Toronto. However despite historical stats being on DC's side when challenging at home, this year DC is the doormat of the MLS East at 6 points in 9 games. TFC sit at 14 points and looking stronger every week.
