Cooper gives FCD rare win as UMLSCC Champ

Kenny Cooper scored in the 32nd minute against Joe Cannon and FC Dallas got thier first win as UMLSCC since August 17, 2002 when they defeated the team formerly known as the MetroStars. The win over Colorado is only their 2nd home victory as the Champion. The other win is over the Chicago Fire in the season opener of 2000.

The western division leaders face a quick turnaround as they travel to New England for a Wednesday matchup. And in Foxboro, the champs will try to do what they have never done - retain the title past their first defense. FC Dallas have lost every single time in their second game after winning the title. The New England Revolution are 8 time holders of the UMLSCC. New England has played in one UMLSCC game this season, losing 0-1 in Kansas City. The last time they were champions was in 2005 when they held onto the title for 9 games - winnning 6 and drawing 3 before losing to DC United. The Rev's have a very good home record as UMLSCC challenger. That record is 7-4-3. Overall at home they are 14-8-6. New England has lost the last 4 UMLSCC games they have participated in.
