The UMLSCC is a contest for MLS teams in which the Champion must defend the title every game. This is a fun-fan friendly way to raise interest in MLS games. The UMLSCC started when the San Jose Clash defeated DC United 1-0 in the first ever MLS game 1996. Since then the title has changed 155 times in 412 games. The current UMLSCC are Los Angeles. This is LA's 14th title.

FC Dallas grab 11th title at home

Thanks to Carlos Ruiz's 7 game goal streak and a late clincher by Robert Mina, FC Dallas were able to take the title for the 11th time. FC Dallas also tied DC United and San Jose/Houston franchise by winning the title for the 9th time at home.

Ante Razov of Chivas made the game interesting by pulling back a goal in the 83rd but the Chivas win streak ended and with it their first title reign.

FC Dallas now take off 13 days as they do not play again until they host Colorado on the 24th. Maybe they'll be able to figure out how to improve on their abysmal 1-0-5 home record as UMLSCC.

The title has now changed hands 6 times in 12 games this season. In 2005 the title only changed teams 8 times. At the current rate, it might be that the title changes more than in 2002 when
it changed teams 16 times in 31 games.
