The UMLSCC is a contest for MLS teams in which the Champion must defend the title every game. This is a fun-fan friendly way to raise interest in MLS games. The UMLSCC started when the San Jose Clash defeated DC United 1-0 in the first ever MLS game 1996. Since then the title has changed 155 times in 412 games. The current UMLSCC are Los Angeles. This is LA's 14th title.

LA on 4 game win streak

Los Angeles is on a 4 game winning streak and the get Beckham back too.

After taking the title from Houston, LA won their next two games 1-0 also. Over New England and then Chivas USA. Tonight they dismantled the NY Red Bulls, in NY, 3-1 on the return of David Beckham. Next week, July 25th, they travel to Kansas City.

KC have the chance to score the 700th home goal in UMLSCC play. LA will be playing in their 91st game, only trailing NY and Chicago. The Galaxy will be going for their 29th win as Champion, which will tie Chicago's record. With 42 overall wins LA now only trail Chicago by three. Kansas City are 13-6-7 overall at home and 6-4-4 as the home challenger. The Galaxy are 20-6-21 on the road overall and 15-4-10 as the Champion(most wins, but a lot of losses too).

The last meeting in KC for a UMLSCC game was in 2005. The game ended 2-2. Overall LA leads the series in KC 2-2-1, but both wins came in 1998. Overall LA leads the series5-5-2.
