Rapids retain title in LA

For the 8th consecutive game the title holder did not register a victory however the Rapids did retain the title. The game in LA finished 0-0 as Joe Cannon and the Rapids recorded a second consecutive shutout afte being shelled in KC. It is only the second time that Colorado has retained the title on the road, both draws.

The next game for Colorado is the 23rd, again in LA. But this time aginst CD Chivas USA. The Rapids are the first team that Chivas defeated after winning their first title from Chicago earlier this season. That game was also in LA and Chivas won 4-1. This will be the second time the teams have met for the UMLSCC.

This game, like the last has huge West playoff implications. Colorado and Chivas have 39 points each and occupy the 3rd and 4th playoff spots - only 1 point behind Houston and 3 ahead of 5th place Real Salt Lake.
